How to List a Token (DEX, CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap)

How to List a Token (DEX, CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap)

Creating a token is the easy part. Getting it listed, so people can find it, trade it and trust it, is what actually gets you holders. Listing happens in two layers: on a DEX where trading happens, and on trackers like CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap where people research. This guide covers both, how each works, and how to speed them up.

How token listing actually works

There is no single "list my token" button, and that trips people up. Listing is really two different things happening in two places.

DEX listingAutomatic

Add liquidity on a DEX and your token is instantly tradable. Charts like DexScreener and Dextools pick it up on their own.

Tracker listingYou apply

CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are directories. You submit a request and they review it.

Step 1: get listed on a DEX (this is automatic)

A DEX (decentralised exchange) is where your token trades. On Solana that is Raydium or Jupiter; on Ethereum-based chains it is Uniswap. The moment you add a liquidity pool for your token it becomes tradable, with no application to fill in.

Within minutes of the first trades, the big charting tools pick your token up automatically: DexScreener, Dextools and Birdeye. That is where most early traders discover new tokens, so a DEX listing with real liquidity is the foundation everything else builds on.

1Create your tokenLaunch your SPL or ERC-20 with the Token Creator or MemeCoin Creator, no code.
2Add liquidityCreate a liquidity pool on Raydium, Jupiter or Uniswap so the token can be traded.
3Get picked upDexScreener, Dextools and Birdeye list your token automatically once there is liquidity and trades.

Step 2: speed it up with the right signals

Automatic listings show your token, but a bare chart with no info scares buyers off. The tokens that get traction add the right signals fast, and this is also exactly what CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap check later.

  • Verify your contract so the code is public and trustworthy.
  • Add a website and socials. A free token website with your buy link, X and Telegram is generated when you create your token with iMintify, exactly the external links trackers look for.
  • Submit your token info (logo, description, links) to DexScreener and Dextools so your chart looks legit instead of anonymous.
  • Lock liquidity and revoke authorities to signal you are not going to rug, which builds trust faster.

Step 3: apply for a CoinGecko listing

CoinGecko is the first tracker most people check, and listing is free. You submit your token through their request form and their team reviews it. The bar is not high, but you have to look like a real project, so get your basics in order first.

CoinGecko listing checklist, have these ready before you apply:

  • Verified contract address on a supported chain, with the source code public.
  • Live trading and liquidity on a DEX (a real liquidity pool with actual volume, not zero).
  • A working website with your token info. Your free iMintify token website counts.
  • Active socials, at least X and Telegram, kept up to date.
  • A clean logo (usually a 200x200 PNG) plus accurate name, symbol and supply.

When that is in place, submit through the CoinGecko listing request form. Approval usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks.

Step 4: apply for a CoinMarketCap listing

CoinMarketCap is the other major tracker, the one people mean when they say "the other CoinGecko". Getting on both is the goal, since between them they cover almost everyone who researches a token. The requirements mirror CoinGecko, with a bit more weight on a real community.

CoinMarketCap listing checklist:

  • A verified contract address and accurate token details.
  • Trading activity and liquidity on at least one DEX or exchange.
  • A website and active social channels.
  • A logo and a short, clear project description.
  • Some community and holders, so the project looks alive rather than empty.

Submit through the CoinMarketCap listing request form. Reviews can take a little longer than CoinGecko, so apply early and keep your details identical across both.

How iMintify helps you list faster

Listing rewards projects that look complete, and that is where the toolkit helps. When you create a token with iMintify you get a free website with your images and links, the exact signals DEX charts and trackers want to see. From there you add liquidity, submit your info, and apply to CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. New to tokens? Start with how to create a token.

Getting listed does not cost a listing fee on the tools that matter. DEX charts are automatic, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are free to apply to. Your real cost is the liquidity you add and the network fee, which is cents on Solana.

FAQ

How do I list my token?

Listing happens in two layers. First, add liquidity on a DEX (Raydium, Jupiter or Uniswap) and your token is tradable and picked up automatically by charts like DexScreener and Dextools. Then apply for free to the trackers, CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.

How do I get my token listed on CoinGecko?

Submit CoinGecko's free listing request. Before you apply, make sure your token has real trading volume and liquidity on a DEX, a working website, active socials and a verified contract, because that is what they review. Approval takes a few days to a couple of weeks.

What is the difference between a DEX listing and CoinGecko?

A DEX listing is where trading happens and it is automatic once you add liquidity. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are directories where people research a token, and you apply to be listed there.

How do I get on DexScreener or Dextools?

Automatically. As soon as your token has a liquidity pool and trades, these charts list it. You then submit your logo, description and links to enrich the listing so it looks legit.

How long does a CoinGecko listing take?

Usually a few days to a couple of weeks after you submit, depending on their review queue and whether your token meets the requirements.

Is listing a token free?

The tools that matter are free: DEX charts are automatic, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap are free to apply to. Your real cost is the liquidity you add plus the network fee, which is cents on Solana.

How do I speed up my token listing?

Verify your contract, add a website and socials, submit your token info to DexScreener and Dextools, and lock liquidity. These trust signals get you discovered faster and are exactly what the trackers check.
