How to use the AI NFT Generator

Why use it
- You have an idea but no artwork. Describe what you want and the generator draws it. Useful when the concept is clear but you cannot make the art yourself.
- You need variety, not one image. A collection needs pieces that belong together but differ. The wizard handles traits and rarity so every piece is unique.
- You want to test before you commit. Generating is cheap and instant, so you can try five directions in an afternoon instead of hiring for one.
What it is
The AI NFT Generator turns a text prompt (and optionally a reference image) into NFT artwork. It has three modes, picked from tiles when you open the tool. They exist because "make me a collection" means very different things depending on size and how unique each piece needs to be.
You pick the mode up front; the page subtitle then switches to the active sub-tool ("Single NFT" / "NFT Collection" / "AI Collection Wizard").
The three modes (and when to use each)
1. Single NFT
One prompt → 1 to 100 images in one go. You pick the ones you like and send them to deploy. Best for: a 1-of-1, a small hand-picked set, or just experimenting with prompts.
2. NFT Collection (Multi)
A raw batch of 2–100 images from one prompt — no trait logic, just variety. Best for: a small collection where every piece is a variation on the same idea and you don't need structured traits/metadata.
3. AI Collection Wizard (Unique Multi NFT)
A guided, 5-step flow that builds a trait-based collection of up to 100 unique NFTs. This is the one to use when you want real variety (different hats, backgrounds, outfits) with matching metadata attributes.
There is also a fourth output path inside the wizard — Cut Layers (tile title "Multi NFT Traits") — which is the only way to reach thousands (up to 10,000). See the last section.
Reference image (optional, any mode)
You can upload a reference image (an existing PFP or a style sample). The generator then styles from it, so your output matches an existing look.
Step-by-step: Single / Multi
- Open /ai-nft-generator and pick Single NFT or NFT Collection.
- Set the Count (how many images), then optionally Model, Style and Size. (On mobile these sit behind a settings icon.)
- Type your prompt. Tip: describe the subject, style and mood; you don't need to add "no text/no watermark" — that's handled for you.
- (Optional) Upload a reference image to style from.
- Click generate. Images appear in the results grid — they're also saved automatically under "My Generations" so you won't lose them.
- Select the images you want and continue to Deploy (one continuous flow into the collection-create page).
Cost: ~0.15 credits per image (×2 for premium models or 2048px output).
Step-by-step: AI Collection Wizard (up to 100 unique)
- Step 1 — Base character. Generate (or upload) your base character. The form runs the normal generator; when you have a good one, click "Use as base character." Everything else builds on this base, so spend a little time here. A clean, simple base (no busy background, no fixed accessories) gives the cleanest trait edits.
- Step 2 — Structure. The wizard suggests a collection structure (which trait categories/layers to use). Here you also choose Standard vs Premium (see below) — this choice is locked for the run.
- Step 3 — Trait prompts. For each trait you write a short prompt and set a rarity slider (how often that trait appears). Rarer traits = more valuable pieces.
- Step 4 — Generate. The wizard produces the composite NFTs in parallel. You can click any result to open a regen modal: swap/add/ remove individual traits per layer, re-roll (dice) a layer, or add a feedback note, then regenerate just that piece.
- Step 5 — Combine / deploy. Review, then deploy straight to a collection, or hand off to the Layer Generator for more control.
Cost: ~0.15–0.25 credits per NFT, plus ~0.15–0.30 per base candidate (3 candidates are generated in Step 1).
Standard vs Premium (important)
AI image-edit models reliably apply one "change X to Y" instruction per call. Ask for several at once and they start picking traits at random, so the metadata drifts from the actual picture. That's why there are two modes:
- Standard (default): exactly one trait layer. Each NFT = one trait = one edit = the metadata always matches the image. You can still have up to 30 unique traits in that single dimension. Cheapest and most reliable. Best for most people.
- Premium: 2–4 layers (e.g. hat + outfit + background). The wizard runs a focused, one-trait-at-a-time edit chain per NFT so each layer stays accurate. Uniques come from the combination of layers, so you get far more variety — but it costs more (roughly one edit per layer, per NFT).
Rule of thumb: if you want simple, guaranteed-correct variety → Standard. If you want rich multi-attribute PFPs and don't mind paying more → Premium.
The path to thousands: Cut Layers ("Multi NFT Traits")
The AI modes above are capped at 100 because each image is a separate AI call — generating 10,000 that way would be slow and expensive. Cut Layers solves this:
- The AI generates each trait once (one image per hat, per background, etc.).
- Each trait is automatically cut out onto a transparent PNG.
- Those trait PNGs are handed to the Layer Generator, which composes up to 10,000 unique NFTs in your browser — for free, with your rarity settings.
So the cost scales with the number of *traits* (a few dozen), not the number of *NFTs* (thousands). This is the economical route for large drops.
Cost: ~0.15 credits per trait cut (plus the trait AI-gen at ~0.15–0.30 each); the composition of the full collection is free.

Good to know
- Everything you generate is saved to My Generations — refreshing or navigating away won't lose it.
- Prompts are kept clean for you; a "no text/no watermark" instruction is added behind the scenes.
- If a generation fails, the credits are auto-refunded.
