Yes, uploads up to 5 GB are free, no account, no credit card, no API key. We host the pin on our Filebase infrastructure at our cost. 

We use a simple credit system. You get free credits to create and maintain your collection. You only pay for extra credit usage. Inactive files are automatically removed from storage unless extended with credits.

On the public IPFS network. The pin is held on our Filebase Starter infrastructure (S3-compatible IPFS provider). Once the CID is generated, anyone can serve your file via any IPFS gateway worldwide, you are not locked into us. The CID is content-addressed, meaning it is mathematically derived from the file bytes and cannot be forged.

Free uploads stay pinned indefinitely as long as we have storage headroom and no abuse complaints are filed. For mission-critical files we recommend either connecting a wallet to attach them to your account, or pinning them to a second provider yourself. Since IPFS is content-addressed, you can re-pin the same CID on any other provider at any time without changing it.

Any file type, single files or batches. Folders as a single drop are not supported yet, drop the files individually for now. Total per upload is capped at 5 GB limit per file 100 mg. Files must comply with our Terms of Service — no illegal content, no malware, no CSAM.
Yes, that is exactly the intended use case. Use ipfs:/// as the baseURI in your ERC-721 / ERC-1155 contract (or as the URI field for a Solana collection NFT). OpenSea, Magic Eden, Solscan and Etherscan all resolve IPFS URIs natively, so your NFT artwork and metadata will display correctly with zero extra config.
