“Crip Ya Enthusiasm” Snoop Dogg’s Incredible Astro Project Collaboration
Snoop Dogg, a famous hip-hop artist and a prominent NFT influencer, teams up with web3 animation studio Astro Project to release the music video for the song “Crip Ya Enthusiasm.” This first appeared on his album “Bacc On Death Row” (B.O.D.R) in February. It paid homage to iconic theme music from the everlasting sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The B.O.D.R album was released in association with Gala Music. The Snoop Stash Boxes, which were only available for a brief time and in small numbers, included three additional tunes that were included in the B.O.D.R. NFT album version of Snoop Dogg.

Snoop, in collaboration with Gala Music, launched a separate line of NFTs after the release of his album. This allowed fans to purchase individual songs as collectibles.
You might be curious as to why the NFT is a Donut. Since a donut is one of the first things a 3D artist learns to make, Astro Project chose to make the access key a donut.
The ‘Donut’ NFT collection by Astro Project debuted at the same time as the music video’s release. A total of 11,111 digital donuts were launched, which function as digital keys that can access the video’s content, including 3D models and character animations. Astro Project is acclaimed for the digital setting in which they shot the video.
The video begins with the artist driving behind a cop car before rear-ending it. Snoop Dogg’s avatar resembles the comedian Larry David roaming the streets of LA and finding himself in a myriad of situations, some of which feature Biggie and 2Pac, a former label mate at Death Row.
The music video was written and directed by Jesse Wellens and James Defina. Snoop Dogg’s motion capture was filmed at the “Portal” studio of Astro Project in Santa Monica, California. The video was animated using Unreal Engine, a popular 3D creation tool for masterclass scene building and photoreal visuals.
Astro Donuts are the first of many digital🔑’s which will 🔓exclusive Astro Vault access.

David, whom Snoop portrays in the video, is no stranger to Web3. He appeared in an FTX commercial that earlier this year was shown to millions of homes during the Super Bowl. Furthermore, the theme for his TV show was minted as a 1-of-1 NFT.
This collaboration shows a continued interest in the rapper’s work in the Web3 space. Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg and Eminem performed as NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection at the MTV Video Music Awards. Snoop is a long-time NFT collector and owns a virtual land in The Sandbox, a metaverse project.
